iPhone 來到第 10 年，除了 iPhone X 被喻為外形功能大躍進，相信會吸引一眾果粉以外，歷代 iPhone 一向不少支持者。由第一代的 iPhone、接著的 iPhone 3G、iPhone 3Gs、iPhone 4、iPhon 4s、iPhone 5、iPhone 5c、iPhone 5s、iPhone 6、iPhone 6 Plus 、iPhone 6s、iPhone 6s Plus、iPhone SE、iPhone 7、iPhone 7 Plus，來到 iPhone 8、iPhone 8 Plus，這 17 部 iPhone 在效能方面表現有多大改善？又以為一定最新 iPhone 表現一定最好？以下測試告訴你不一定舊等於慢。

由外國網站 EverythingApplePro，於 iPhone X 發布之前，找來歷代 iPhone 一共 17 部，進行開機速度、跑分、機身熱力、揚聲器音量、開啟相機速度、Touch ID、拍攝質素及攝錄質素等的測試，可以讓果粉一睹歷代 iPhone 的「演變」。iPhone 經歷 10 年的演變，在 iPhone X 以前，外形機身其實變化不算太大 (iPhone 至 iPhone 3Gs 相近、iPhone 4/4s/5/5C/5s/SE 外形相近、iPhone 6/6 Plus/6s/6s Plus/7/7 Plus/8/8 Plus 相似)，至於效能，若以第一代 iPhone 及 iPhone 8 Plus 比較，自然有很大的差距，但在各項測試中，未必是最新的 iPhone 8/8 Plus 有最佳表現，第一代的 iPhone 部分測試頸目，亦未必一定最差！
雖然測試沒有交待各機運行哪些《iOS》(不過部分測試介面可見，應該是用原生的《iOS》，如 iPhone 運行《iOS 3.1.3》)、以及是否全新重置還原原廠設定 (影片的介面應該是原廠設定沒有其他第三方 apps)，但也有一定的參考價值。其中有幾個測試值得留意，如開機速度上，最新的 iPhone 8/8 Plus 「理所當然」最快，不過最慢的不是最舊的 iPhone (排第 6 位)，反而是 iPhone 4s 最慢；開啟相機速度，最快的竟然是 iPhone SE、而支援 Touch ID 的 iPhone 中，iPhone 7 Plus 比 iPhone 8 Plus 佳。至於 Benchmark、拍攝質素及攝錄質素，則 17 部以來的改善及提升相當明顯。
